Younger Users

Safe learning for younger users.
Guardian-managed accounts. Recorded sessions. Full visibility.

🛡️ Safety First

Guruu is designed to be a safe place for younger users to learn, ask questions, and build confidence.

All users under 18 must use a guardian-managed account. This means a parent or legal guardian is actively involved in how the account is set up and used.

To protect young users, we’ve built safety into the platform:

  • All sessions take place on Guruu (no moving off-platform)
  • Every session is automatically recorded
  • Guardians have full visibility of activity
  • Payments are handled securely through the platform

This creates a learning environment that is transparent, accountable, and safe by design.

Who is a younger user?

A “younger user” is anyone under the age of 18.

There are two ways young people can use Guruu:

  • Learners (any age) — to get help, learn new skills, or ask questions
  • Teen Guruus (15–17) — to offer services and earn, with guardian support

In all cases:

  • A guardian must create and manage the account
  • The guardian oversees bookings, payments, and activity
  • The guardian is legally responsible for the account

This ensures young users are supported, while also meeting legal and payment requirements.

How it works

Getting started is simple:

Step 1 — Create a guardian account
A parent or guardian signs up first.

Step 2 — Add a younger user
Create a learner or teen guruu profile under your account. Go to settings, then family sharing.

Step 3 — Book and learn safely
Find the right Guruu, book a session, and meet on-platform.

Everything — from booking to payment to the session itself — happens in one place.

What Guardians Can See & Control

Guardians stay informed and in control at every step.

They can:

  • View all messages and communication
  • Access session recordings
  • Manage bookings and payments
  • Monitor activity across the account

This level of visibility helps ensure young users feel supported — and gives guardians peace of mind.

If Something Doesn’t Feel Right

Your safety comes first. If something happens during a session that makes you feel uncomfortable, worried or unsafe, you can speak up at any time.

During the session, you can:

  • End the session at any time.
  • Tell your guardian what happened.
  • Look for the red shield and use it to let your guardian know that something doesn’t feel right.

Your guardian can then decide what to do next. If there is a problem with the session or payment, they can raise a formal dispute through Guruu.

You do not need to stay in a session that makes you feel uncomfortable.
